Every year, the whole family will dine together on the 2nd day of CNY. So this year, there's no exception. Eldest aunt made a booking at Zhou's Kitchen @ Far East Square this year based on the numerous recommendations she recieved from her customers, with one of them working as the captain in the restaurant. Before today, i never knew that there was a chinese restaurant called Zhou's Kitchen.

Zhou's Kitchen is one of the many dining hangouts belonging to Tung Lok Group. The restaurant offers all-time chinese favourites, as well as well-loved private recipes of the group's founder & executive chairman's family.

Being CNY, they offered a variety of CNY 8-course set meals for us to choose from. But we decided to select our own course meals. Aunt was the one ordering the food, recommending us those that she had tried before. Since i'm equipped with my dad's camera, I managed to take shots of the many dishes that we had ordered.

Coffee-sauced prokribs - a rating of 5/5. the aroma of the coffee together with the tender and juicy prokribs lingers in your mouth after a bite at it. it's absolutely heavenly.

Beijing Duck - a rating of 2/5. it's my first time eating beijing duck. all i can recall after eating it is the oily oily taste. i had no idea it was actually duck skin until the waitress brought out the duck and sliced off the skin right in front of us. the duck meat came in the form of 2 other dishes, one was diced duck meat and the other i couldn't recall.

Cereal Prawns - a rating of 4/5. i love the cereal, which tasted quite different from the ones i eat before. however, the serving was a abit small, everyone only managed to have one prawn. wish there were more.

Toufu with vegetable & mushrooms - a rating of 5/5. another one of my favourite dish that scored a full mark in its rating. this wasnt a dish we had in mind cos we intially ordered brocolli with scallop. however, brocolli was all sold out so aunt's friend suggested that we order this instead. And wow, it wasnt a bad choice. take a small bit of the toufu and go together with the sauce, it's yummilicious.


Red bean paste + nian gao - a rating of 4/5. the combination of the two was a perfect ending for the meal. the nian gao was so yummy that i didnt had time to even take a snapshot of it and it was all gone. luckily there was enough to go around.

the day didnt end just there, dad drove slowly along the expressway hoping that we could catch a glimpse of the firework display. if you're wondering did we manage to see it, yep, we did. haahaa..after that, dad drove us to Changi Airport T3. we took a walk around the new terminal before heading home :)

And now back from the airport, i'm feeling so energetic..shall load some shows to watch online before going to sleep.
